Entering the office of Lex Luthor was like entering the lair of a beast, a beast that had no qualms about murdering his own father. Facing Lex made taking on those federal agents seem like playtime at school. Nevertheless, he needed to do just that, for Chloe.
The warm smile that greeted him immediately set off alarm bells in his head. Lex Luthor never smiled unless he knew something you didn’t.
“Mr. Olsen,” Lex said with that same chilling smile. “I’ve been expecting you.”
He stammered out his request, hating the way Lex made him sound like a nervous child, but not backing down despite the fact that every part of him was telling him to run. In the last day, he’d learned to face his fears, even if he couldn’t make them go away.
“Relax,” Lex reassured him. “It’s already been taken care of. The case against Chloe has been dropped.”
That didn’t make Jimmy feel better. In fact, he was already wishing he wasn’t here. He wouldn’t have been if Lex weren’t the most powerful person that he knew with the ability to get things done that no one else could.
“I don’t understand,” he finally admitted. “Why are you helping me?”
“In light of recent events, I’d like to think of my employees as my new family. Families help each other.”
Not if you’re a Luthor, Jimmy thought to himself, unless you mean help into an early grave.
“I know that if I ever need something from you, you’ll be more than willing to be there for me,” Lex continued.
Now he felt cold. Lex was leering at him with a predatory look in his eyes and, suddenly, Jimmy knew he’d made a deal with the devil.
“What…uh…did you have something in mind?”
Jimmy already knew the answer. There was a look in Lex’s eyes, like he was eyeing a hunk of meat, ready to devour it. As Lex’s tongue snaked out and licked his lips, Jimmy had to resist the urge to shudder. What scared him even more than Lex Luthor was the fact that he was willing make a whore of himself to keep Chloe safe. If Lex wanted him for sex, he’d do it.
“I’m sure I can think of something,” Lex replied, leaning back in his seat. “Come to the mansion after dinner tonight, and I’m sure I can…put you to use.”
As he returned his attention to his laptop, Jimmy knew he’d been dismissed.
At least for now.

Jimmy wasn’t surprised when Lex kept him waiting. He was probably trying to heighten Jimmy's level of anxiety, but he was beyond that now. He was here and he wouldn’t leave until Lex had whatever he wanted and was fully satisfied. After that, he and Chloe could get on with their lives together.
“Mr. Olsen.” Lex finally greeted him as he breezed into the room. “You’re punctual, I see. Very well, shall we go upstairs? I have a conference call I have to make to Japan in an hour.”
Lex certainly didn’t waste time with small talk, but an hour wasn’t very long. This would be over before he knew it. He hoped that would be the case, and he hoped Chloe would forgive him for what he was about to do.
“I…uh…wasn’t sure if you needed me to bring anything,” Jimmy said as they headed upstairs. He’d never been with a guy before, but he wasn’t totally naïve. He imagined Lex was the sort of guy who liked to use toys.
“I have everything you need,” Lex said as he opened the door to one of his numerous bedrooms.
It wasn’t Lex’s actual bedroom, Jimmy suspected. It didn’t look like it had been used in a while, although everything was clean and tidy. You could just tell when a room was being used every night, and this one felt…cold.
He resisted the urge to shiver.
“So, do you want me on the bed?” Jimmy asked as he started to unbutton his shirt.
He stopped when he noticed that Lex was staring at him, one eyebrow raised and an amused smile on his face.
“Tell me. What do you think I asked you to come here for?” Lex asked.
“You…you said you wanted to put me to use,” Jimmy replied. “I thought you meant….”
Lex laughed, and Jimmy realised he’d made a huge mistake and hurriedly began to button his shirt.
“No offense, Mr. Olsen, but if I wanted that, there are numerous places I could go where I would receive better quality of service than by an amateur like you. I asked you here to clear some of my father’s things out of this room. This was where he used to stay when he was in town, and I find the idea of doing it myself…. Well, I’m sure you can imagine how difficult it must be.”
“Right,” Jimmy said. “Of course. I can do that.”
“Good,” Lex said. “I want you finished before I start my conference call.”
“Sure thing, Mr. Luthor,” Jimmy replied, and he straightened his clothes before starting to work, mentally kicking himself the entire time. Still, at least he’d had a lucky escape. A bit of manual labor was nothing in exchange for Chloe’s freedom.
“Mr. Luthor,” Jimmy called out as Lex reached the door. “Does this mean we’re square?”
“I told you, Jimmy, we’re family. It’s not about being square; it’s about helping each other. You can always come to me if you need something, and I know I can come to you, too.”
“Right,” Jimmy said, trying to keep his voice devoid of emotion. This was never going to be over.
“You can let yourself out when you’re done,” Lex said, and he closed the door behind him.
Jimmy was left alone in the dark and the cold, with only a dead man’s belongings for company. Maybe it hadn’t been such a lucky escape after all.
