He always imagined his last moments, if they occurred during battle, it would be with a song on his lips. His entire life before the war, during the war and after the war had been about song.
Fate, as usual, had different plans for him.
The shot came suddenly, painfully tearing through his body and sending him sprawling to the floor. A moment later Harris’s face appeared beside him and he vaguely felt a hand touch his.
This was the end then. Not with a song, but holding the man he loved.
