Ficlet: The Happiest Frog
Title: The Happiest Frog

Froggy the tree frog was a happy little fellow. His tree was his kingdom and every morning, after hopping around to stretch his muscles and feeding on the juiciest bugs, he would find the finest branch and sing about how wonderful life was.
Froggy wasn’t upset when the strangers wandered into the clearing which housed his tree. In fact he was occasionally a lonely frog, having not yet found a mate. Maybe these creatures would be his new friends.
Froggy eagerly hopped onto the hand of the taller creature and was pleased when he felt a gentle finger stroke his back.
“Well, you're a happy little fella, ain't ya?”
Yes, Froggy thought to himself, I am the happiest frog that ever lived.
Then the world closed in around him.
And Froggy knew no more.
