We fought, and we won. I’m still not entirely sure how. Four of us against an army, we should have been crushed within seconds. I’ve decided it’s best not to think about it. We’re still here and I’m thankful, just as I am thankful for Spike. I never once imagined that my reward would be someone who was once my enemy, someone who now brings me more happiness than I ever thought possible. As I look at him sleeping peacefully next to me I know I will never want anything more than this. Just being with him brings me joy.
